Privacy Policy
ProScanPDF is provided by Matthew Chapin and is designed to scan documents without operating an upload or analytics service.
Information ProScanPDF handles
ProScanPDF uses the camera only when you ask to scan a document. Captured page images, document names, enhancement choices, and recognized text are processed and stored locally in the app's container. Text recognition and PDF creation run on the device.
You may choose specific images with Apple's system photo picker. ProScanPDF receives only the items you select; it does not request broad access to or enumerate your photo library. Apple may retrieve a selected iCloud Photos item before providing it to the app. ProScanPDF normalizes and stores that selected image locally and does not upload it.
ProScanPDF does not operate accounts or developer servers and does not collect, sell, rent, track, or transmit personal information, scans, recognized text, diagnostics, or usage analytics to the developer. The app contains no advertising, tracking technology, or third-party SDK.
Sharing and system backups
A document leaves ProScanPDF when you choose a destination through Apple's system share sheet. That destination's terms and privacy practices apply after sharing. Depending on your device and iCloud settings, system device or iCloud backups may include app data. ProScanPDF does not control or separately upload those backups.
Retention and deletion
Scans remain in ProScanPDF until you delete them or remove the app and its data through system tools. Deleting a scan removes its document record and stored pages from the app container. Temporary PDF exports are protected while present and are removed after sharing or cancellation, or reclaimed after abandonment.
Permissions and choices
Camera access is used only for document capture. You can deny or change camera access in Settings, and system-photo-picker import remains available when camera access is denied. ProScanPDF does not request full Photos-library, microphone, location, contacts, or tracking permission.
Children and changes
ProScanPDF is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children. Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a revised effective date.
